The Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) enables remote office capability to field workers. WebTech Kuwait has developed a number of applications for the MDT, such as Electronic Driver Logs, Messaging between Driver Logs, Messaging between driver and dispatch personnel, Electronic Form transmittal, and Driver Login.

Driver Logs: WebTech Kuwait' HOS Solution is fully compliant with all the rules, regulations, and parts associated with US and Canadian Hours of Service regulations.

Highlights of our solution include:

  • In Canada satisfying the 7/60, 8/70, and 14/120 rules
  • In US, satisfying the 7/60 and 8/70 rules
  • Automated status changing integrated with the vehicle
  • Electronic Form integration - "Record of duty status' (RODS) association
  • And more.

Messaging: The WebTech Kuwait messaging center provides two-way text and status message capability through a user-friendly messaging interface. Messaging enables communications between your driver and dispatch, providing

  • Dispatch assistance
  • Delivery confirmation
  • Order information
  • Routing/Re-routing directions
  • Status and Schedule changes
  • Customer emergencies

Electronic Forms: Many standard forms are available today including pre-trip inspection, post-trip inspection, loading, delivery and equipment check forms. The Quadrant Solution is also equipped with an interface for dispatchers to provide their own custom forms.

Driver Login: The Quadrant System in conjunction with the MDT enables Drivers to login to their vehicle system using username and password, Key Fob or by using a Smart Card System (Magnetic Card Reader). In addition, the WebTech Locators can be configured to disable the vehicle starter unless the driver has provided the correct means of authentication.

Laptops, PDAs and connectivity
Connecting a laptop or PDA to the WebTech Kuwait Locator via the standard RS232 serial port allows users to "surf" the Internet or access Corporate applications.

Panic Buttons, Bar Code Scanners and voice
Panic buttons are connected to the Vehicle Locators through a Telematics connection and will automatically alert personnel through email, SMS alerts, or an XML interface to a backoffice dispatch application - ensuring additional safety for your field workers. Remote panic buttons allow drivers to send alerts from outside of the vehicle using a key fob. When the panic button is activated, the vehicle horn may also be activated, providing additional local visibility.

WebTech Kuwait also offers Bar Code Scanners for direct input of data to a Mobile Data Terminal Electronic Form. Connect the scanner, scan the bar code, and the information automatically populates the appropriate field. A range of bar code scanner models are available.
